An opportunity exists in the Machine Group and the Met-Max Innovations group.
 
 
ENGINEER, DESIGN MECHANICAL
Performs functions to design / develop new and existing company products.  Works closely with other engineering areas to define optimum design specifications.  Performs typical calculations, analysis, and conducts design reviews with Principal Engineers.  Performs all bill of material, part definition, and drawing work related to a project.  Works directly with company or customer’s personnel to determine the cause of mechanical malfunctions and convey appropriate repair procedures.  Prepares sales-related documents, including cost estimates and project scope of supply, for machine design, customization and/or refurbish/rebuild projects.  Works directly with sales, aftermarket, purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly departments to resolve engineering related issues.  Communicates directly with vendors to obtain information and assistance.  Provides direct customer contact, including limited travel on a global basis.  Other duties as may be assigned.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Ability to work and accomplish goals with minimal direction.
  • Customer service mentality with the availability for overnight domestic and overseas travel on short notice.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Training or experience with engineering design software systems.
 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  •  Experience working with Solidworks.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Office and shop environment.
