Description
We are looking for experienced and detail-oriented Project Inspectors to join our team in the Spring of 2024 in the Dayton/Cincinnati area. As a Project Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting assigned projects to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and/or proposals as indicated in project specifications. You will work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure all projects are completed to the highest standards.
You will be responsible for the inspection of projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals for roadway work, roadway, drainage, pavement, waterworks, electrical, maintenance of traffic, traffic work zone, pavement markings, traffic control, signing, topsoil removal, demolition and clearing, foundations for embankment, sub-grades, guardrails and/or median barriers, landscaping slope protection, detours, and temporary roads.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with project managers, contractors, and other team members. are required along with strong time management and organizational skills. Requirements
Project Inspector I
- High School Diploma or GED with 1600 hours of construction project technical experience highway test certifications including but not limited to:
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician-Grade I
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician-Level I or:
- Ohio Aggregate Level I
WITH: a demonstration of successful completion of the following tests:
- ODOT Flexible Pavement Test (Renew every five (5) years) and,
- ODOT Traffic Work Zone Test (Review every five (5) years) and,
- Completion of ODOT Commercially Useful Function (CUF) Training
Project Inspector II
- Meet ALL requirements of Project Inspector I
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician-Grade I
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician-Level I or:
- Ohio Aggregate Level I
WITH a demonstration of successful completion of the following tests:
- ODOT Flexible Pavement Test (Renew every five (5) years) and,
- ODOT Traffic Work Zone Test (Review every five (5) years) and,
- Completion of ODOT Commercially Useful Function (CUF) Training
AND possess one (1) of the following:
- Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management, or degrees that exceed these requirements or,
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level II in Highway Construction Inspection Certi
