Purpose of Position

The Security Coordinator will serve a central role in supporting the security team operational processes including matters related to enterprise-wide security training, awareness and phishing program. This role will also support all compliance activities including documentation, evidence gathering as well as interacting and liaising with auditors both internal and external including in a contractual government setting.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Support leader to implement a mature enterprise-wide security training and awareness program including phishing simulation
Manage the security awareness tool to effectively implement the program
Gather metrics and report regularly
Follow up with the various business areas to ensure all required training is completed timely
Continually enhance and look for ways to improve human behaviors in alignment with security hygiene and best practices
Gather and measure metrics of the security operational functions and key information
Aggregate and report on all metrics and KPIs to the CISO on a regular basis
Assist the security team with various processes and procedures and look for ways to optimize and automate where possible
Assist the team with managing investigations, alerts, threat information and incident response
Assist and help manage small security efforts and projects for the team
Assist in the crafting and management of Policies, standards and procedures
Assist with responding to audits, auditors and clients on matters related to our security controls and compliance
Assist with all documentation required for compliance, including the gathering of control evidence and the System Security Plan (SSP)
Track and report on all risk assessment and audit gaps including corrective action plans
Support the governance and risk management processes with in the security team as well as across the enterprise

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience

Minimum Experience

2-4 years of relevant experience
Prior experience working with federal government agencies contracts in a compliance setting (FISMA, FEDRAMP or CMMC)
Knowledge of and prior hands-on experience in GRC tools/ technologies

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Previous experience liaising with government agency staff, regulators and auditors
Experience designing and running a comprehensive and mature security training, awareness and phishing program
Strong knowledge and experience with security team operations and process and demonstrate the ability to understand most of the security concepts as well as participate with many of those operational processes
Knowledge of audit principles (both internal and external) and government contractual requirements
Background in developing and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures, and standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage across multiple competing priorities and time-sensitive initiatives.
Strong ability to motivate and lead team members including in a remote/virtual environment.
Travel when required
