Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm
10 - 28 hours/week

OVERVIEW:
Working as Part-time Quality Test Technician, you will test and create reports on the quality of Fastenal Managed Inventory (FMI) technology products. You will interpret the quality standards, engineering diagrams and specifications for the products, then execute tests according to those instructions. You will compile data and reports for engineers and other stakeholders to communicate the quality of FMI solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Analyzing and repairing field and service center returns
o Verifying the accuracy and completeness of all tests performed related to the test plan, result data, requestor acceptance and sample dispositions
o Building prototypes and assemblies to support product design and electrical engineering
o Performing inspections and testing of components and final assemblies in accordance with established departmental and company processes
o Reading blueprints, schematics, diagrams and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
o Traveling as the position requires
o Completing other tasks and responsibilities based on business needs

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
o Possess or are working towards a degree in Engineering or a related field of study OR possess quality or engineering work experience
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
o Demonstrate strong problem solving and deductive reasoning skills
o Demonstrate strong organizational, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Willingness to travel, with some overnights required
o Work independently as well as in a team environment
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
