This position is located at the Uptown Charlotte or Cincinnati (4th & Main) location. Interns will have responsibilities across all local IT business consulting activities and problem resolution assignments in the greater Charlotte and Cincinnati regions.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, tracking, and onsite support of end user Information Technology (IT) products and services including computer hardware, infrastructure, peripherals, applications, and telecommunication equipment. Responsibilities will include onsite and remote deskside technical support, asset management, consultation, and IT deployment coordination.
Basic Qualifications
Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75
Currently enrolled and pursing a 2 or 4 year degree in an IT or Engineering related program, such as Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Software Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
Valid drivers license
Desired Qualifications
Applicant must have previously completed a Duke Energy Internship or Co-Op
Exposure to or familiarity with deskside/technical support, asset management and consultation
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Two or fewer years of full time IT or engineering work experience
Willingness and desire to rotate to, as well as an ability to excel in, a variety of diverse roles
Professional, effective written and verbal communication skills, plus organizational ability
Leadership potential displayed through extracurricular involvement
Previous IT or Engineering internship, co-op, or work experience
The ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Community service and volunteer experience
Self-driven, motivated, and proactive
Responsibilities/Technical Skills
Installing, supporting, and repairing computer hardware and software including mobile/ field devices.
Computer reimaging process.
Use of Bomgar Remote Access Tool.
Knowledge of work management tool (Remedy / PICCASO).
Conducting and maintaining an asset inventory of hardware and software.
Exposure to Virtual Desktop
Exposure to Cloud Application configuration and troubleshooting such as One
Drive and Microsoft Office.
Exposure with Label Matrix software and label printer configuration.
Working Conditions
Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
