Your Opportunity as the Senior Analyst, Insurance Claims

Support claims management, with an emphasis on workers' compensation, within our Finance organization to ensure compliance and safety of our people. Leverage your analytical expertise to measure performance metrics and continue growing your skills in relationship management and negotiations to minimize cost of risk and drive continuous improvement on our processes. Make a meaningful impact to the daily operations that create some of the most iconic Smucker brands!

Location: Orrville, OH

Work Arrangements: hybrid, 30% in office expectation

In this role you will:

Support claims management for workers' compensation liability, auto liability, and product liability; develop robust processes to drive the best outcome for the company.

Accumulate and analyze data for losses and loss trends.

Partner with our Plants, Business Units, Absence Team, Health, Safety & Environmental teams, and Third-Party Administrators to support existing claims and mitigate future claims.

Develop performance metrics to measure the claims management performance for the various lines of coverage.

Support annual renewals by collecting and analyzing exposure data for the various lines of coverage and work with broker to provide the data needed for the underwriters.

Perform needed ad-hoc analysis as requested by Treasurer and CFO. Support Treasurer & CFO on ad-hoc risk management projects.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Insurance Risk.

7+ years of proven insurance claims handling expertise necessary to drive a claim from initial opening to satisfactory closure.

Proven expertise in handling multi-state Workers Compensation claims in a manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

Experience working in insurance risk for a larger organization or a large third-party administrator.

Experience with casualty claims and working with a third-party administrator.

Experience conducting negotiations.

Proven ability to respond with a strong sense of urgency.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Trained in Risk Management.
