JOB SUMMARY  

To keep equipment and building clean and sanitized according to standards established by food regulations.  Work with timed effort to meet production start-up.  


RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to clean the building both inside and outside, processing and packaging equipment to ensure all plant rules (work, safety, and sanitation) and Food Safety regulations are adhered to. Follow all procedures in a safe and sanitary manner, to ensure food packaging equipment is clean and maintained.  Must be able to work overtime as required.  Assists in production as business requires.  

DUTIES:   

 1.  Assignment to areas and specific duties and methods given.  Maintain 5S boards.

 2.  Keeps oils, waste, and solids out of the sewer system.

 3.  Maintains equipment and building in sanitary mode for food packaging.

 4.  Assists in production when needed.

 5.  Complete production changeovers on time without deficiencies. 

 6.  Housekeeping and cleaning is a requirement.

 7.  Must be able to work independently and in a group with minimal supervision.

 8.  Attention to detail is a must.

 9.  Communicate with the Area Manager or Supervisor on a daily basis.

10.  Performs other duties as assigned.

11. Working in wet areas cleaning equipment and surrounding areas.  

12. Working with chemicals and wearing safety equipment.

13. Ability to respond quickly and react to situations requiring immediate attention.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work from a man-lift, climb ladders, catwalks, and bin areas to clean machinery 6 feet or more above ground level. Must be able to work with industrial cleaning chemicals. Must oversee methods and procedures to maintain a clean, safe environment in the production of a quality product. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., possess mechanical knowledge for disassembly and reassembly of machines, pumps, bucket elevators, slurry equipment, filters and other process equipment. Must be able to work well with teammates and supervisor in a team environment. Must have the manual skill and dexterity to move and work around heavy machinery throughout the plant. Must have good basic math skills. Must be able to communicate in English clearly in both verbal and written form. Must be able to endure hot and cold temperatures in the work environment. Safety shoes, PPE attire and earplugs are mandatory in designated areas. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
