Job Description


Torch Technologies is seeking a Journeyman level Data/Database Manager to join a team supporting four programs within the AFLCMC/GB Depot Maintenance Programs Portfolio located in Kettering, Ohio (Dayton, WPAFB area). The Depot Maintenance Systems Integration (DMSI) Program is a set of six software applications integrated by a consolidated database. The Depot Maintenance Accounting and Production System (DMAPS) is an independent suite of depot maintenance software applications composed of five systems: Time and Attendance (TAA), Integration Engine (IE), Naval Air Command Industrial Materiel Management System (NIMMS), Automated Bill of Materials (ABOM), and Defense Information Financial Management System (DIFMS). The Depot Maintenance Legacy Systems (DMLS) is a collection of six independent systems: Aircraft Maintenance Production/Compression Report System (AMREP), Depot Maintenance Workload Planning and Control System (DMWPCS), Information Systems Management Tool (ISMT), Management of Items Subject to Repair (MISTR), Quality Information Management Standard System (QIMSS), and Reparability Forecast Model(RFM). The Depot Source of Repair II (DSORs II) is the current business process tool used to determine the best and most appropriate facility to perform depot-level repairs. This program is the standardized value solution used by Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, AFMC Centers, and the Air Force Space Command.

This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience in Database management, to include the below essential duties:

Maintain a variety of electronic files and websites utilizing web-based applications;

Analyzing and recommending data requirements and specifications;

Designing, normalizing, developing, installing, and implementing databases;

Maintaining, monitoring, performance tuning, backup, and recovery of databases;

Installing, configuring, and maintaining database management systems software;

Analyzing and planning for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements;

Developing and administering data standards, policies, and procedures;

Developing and implementing data mining and data warehousing programs;

Evaluating and providing recommendations on new database technologies and architectures;

Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of data management services;

Performing Microsoft SharePoint administration duties; and/or,

Providing technical support for the SharePoint environment including assessment and implementation of new capabilities

Configuring SharePoint services and settings;

Documenting SharePoint configuration and architecture;

Managing site quotas and file size limits;

Reviewing and monitoring usage reports;

Managing content databases and creating new ones as required;

Administering and maintaining sites;

Managing site layout structure and content; or,

Providing SharePoint support to end users.

Coordinating and documenting meetings and conferences to include scheduling, set up of physical and virtual meetings,

Maintaining Division org charts, org rosters, supplies, floor plans, and emergency management information

Conducting research and compiling data associated with acquisition programs.

Preparing various reports and documents while complying with Air Force writing standards for factual, clear, concise, complete, and appropriately coordinated written communications

Reviewing high level Air Force communications packages (Memos, White Papers, etc.) for accuracy Disseminating data regarding program policy and guidance for members throughout the organization

Job Requirements


Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related field and at least three years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD

OR, seven years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, five of which must be in the DoD.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must be able to obtain a T1/NACIsecurity clearance. Must be able to maintain clearance at required level.

Strong experience using the Microsoft Office Suite to include PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Visio, and Excel

Strong experience using Microsoft SharePoint for records management

Experienced in the use of the Defense Travel System (DTS)

Familiar with the use of Video and Teleconference capabilities to support the scheduling, reservation, and execution of meetings.

This includes but may not be limited to: Microsoft Teams Virtual Meetings, Conference Room Phone and Video Technologies
