Job Description

Position Summary: Performs duties and leads others to maintain a safe and secure environment for clients and staff within a residential program setting. Ensures client needs are met and program protocols are followed.

Position Description:

  • Lead and act as a resource for RA I staff at site; organize shift tasks to assure most efficient use of resources and time available without compromising safety and security of clients or staff
  • Assist supervisory staff with related administrative tasks and act as a shift lead in their absence
  • Plan, present and monitor training for RA I staff
  • Monitor activities to ensure program guidelines are followed and appropriate client care is provided; communicate key information in a timely manner and take action as needed
  • Make periodic rounds of buildings/grounds to ensure safe, secure and optimal facility operations
  • Assist clients and peers in making appropriate decisions based on established protocols
  • Provide on-going oversight of client activity; recognize behavior changes and monitor client movement
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation utilizing designated software
  • Respond to emergencies or incidents through conflict resolution and crisis management techniques
  • Perform routine non-clinical intake duties as required
  • Operate vehicle to transport clients as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate professional behavior and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Establish a positive work environment and model strong professional/clinical boundaries and confidentiality
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong conflict resolution/crisis management skills and techniques
  • Effective use of computer and basic data management for record keeping purposes
  • Driving if required by program

Job Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or High School equivalency and;
  • 1-3 years of experience in community corrections or similar residential program setting

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

  • Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Frequent standing and walking. Occasional sitting.
  • Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Frequent to constant reaching, and handling.
  • May require ability to walk up to 4 flights of stairs depending on location.
  • Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent to constant talking/communicating.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer.
