The Controls Specialist plays a vital role in the success of the organization. The primary duties of this position involve working with procurement, maintenance, and engineering personnel. Individuals in this position address questions and concerns regarding product pricing, capabilities, and performance. This position also requires individuals to provide technical assistance and troubleshoot products installed in the field. Travel is required, typically within the states of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana.

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


Troubleshoots controls and PLC problems with processes and hardware
Plans preventive maintenance for electrical items supplied by OTC to our customers
Coordinate with sales team and customers to determine problems and implement solutions
Provides technical assistance as needed by internal and external customers via phone and or in person
Manages relations with customers and vendors
Defined performance metrics based on electrical/controls sales for PMT East region
Install, Start-up, retrofit controls systems as needed
Review manufacturer submittal drawings for accuracy and functionality
Work with controls engineers to drive specification language on industrial and municipal jobs
Travel as necessary to give presentations to engineering firms and customers to educate them on our capabilities and drive business


Qualifications for this position include:


Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is preferred
2+ years of work experience in a related field
Proficient in computer-aided design and drafting software
Proficient in Microsoft office suite
Excellent communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to determine customer needs to develop project specifications and scope
Ability to interpret and implement specifications
Developing and upgrading talent; driving pay for performance and efficiency mindset
Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
