HX5 is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected Software Engineer will provide engineering support to NASA GRC in support of the Radio Frequency Mass Gauge (RFMG) project. RFMG is a low-gravity propellant quantity gauge developed in-house at NASA GRC. The work specifically required for this effort is to support the development the following activities: Software Defined Radios, RF data processing, generation of C/C++ code for use on a System on Chip (SoC).
Required Skills:
Knowledge of electrical systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of C/C++ coding is required.
Ability to work within a configuration managed design environment.
Knowledge of NASA software classification requirements.
Other Desired Skills:
Knowledge C/C++ IDEs and/or compliers, high speed communication protocols, and debugging techniques.
Working knowledge of GIT/SVN for revisioning of software.
Understanding of VHDL and FPGAs/SoCs.
Education/Experience:
Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering degree (preferably from an ABET accredited program) with the following years of experience:
Bachelor's degree with 20 years of experience
Master's degree with 15 years of experience
Other Position Requirements:
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
