What you'll do:
The Data Product Owner is a catalyst for driving Enterprise Data & Analytics solutions. This person is accountable to ensure the alignment of data product requirements between business and technology teams by working alongside business teams to understand business process, data flows, the success criteria of the data product(s). Additionally, this person will collaborate with various stakeholders, including business leads to understand their needs and priorities to contribute to roadmap development.
In this position, the Data Product Owner will contribute to or provide leadership oversight to data solutions in the following areas:
*Ensure that data management practices adhere to life cycle management of data and enterprise data governance policies.
*Monitor and evaluate the performance of data products using Key metrics.
*Work within an agile framework, acting similarly to a Release Train

Engineer (RTE) across multiple scrum teams, prioritizing work, and ensuring the teams deliver value to the business.

Bridge between the technical and business sides of an organization and driving product development that aligns with business objectives.

What we are looking for:

Essential Functions:

Partner with the Data Product Manager, Data Architects, and Data Engineering Manager to ensure data product requirements are addressed in the product development lifecycle.
Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the development of data products, including timelines, milestones, and resources needed for the tactical implementation of the Western Alliance Bank data strategy.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Work closely with IT and data teams to ensure that the infrastructure and platform support that data product requires is defined and operational.
Participate in data governance activities to represent data products as required and partnering with the Enterprise Data Stewards to ensure data product alignment throughout its lifecycle.
Good understanding of data analysis techniques to derive insights from data. This involves working with data visualization tools and understanding statistical methods to interpret data trends and patterns.
A good understanding of the technologies used in data processing, storage and analysis is beneficial. This helps in efficient effectively communicating with technical teams and understanding the capabilities and limitations of different technologies.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and experimentation in the development of data products.
Adept at managing and communicating with diverse teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MIS, or Data & Analytics or equivalent experience
5+ years' experience with data analysis specifically as it relates to enterprise data management including data warehousing and source to target mapping
Strong experience withAgilemethodologies; Skilled in plan creation and documentation practices & In-depthknowledge& experience inagiledevelopment methodology & tools
Strong experience with RDBMS and query language such as T-SQL, PL/SQL, Spark SQL
Strong experience using analytics tools such as PowerBI or equivalent technologies
Strong experience using data profiling/wrangling tools (Example: IDQ (preferred), Alteryx, Paxata, Trifacta, Tamlr, etc.)
Strong experience using common file formats such as CSV, TEXT, JSON, XML, XSD, etc.
Excellent problem solving and analytic skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work collaboratively within a team, business stakeholders and executives

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Agile, SAFe, and/or Scrum
Experience working in a data governance function
Experience integrating with data quality, data catalog and data lineage tools is a plus
Certifications within SAFe Agile/ Azure such as - Azure Fundamentals / Azure Data Engineer
Banking or financial services industry experience or other highly regulated industry experience
Experience integrating and using data science or statistical solutions
