What you'll do:
Western Alliance Bank Technologies performs a critical partnership of key banking products and services for our financial services clients. This position will be an IT Operations Manager responsible for leading ~20 critical applications that facilitate most of the bank's key transactional processes (email, payments, information exchange, and SFTP). As application-platform owner, this position will oversee product lifecycles, infrastructure maintenance, and deployment management across a diverse set of internal and externally federated development teams. This position will lead a small on/offshore team responsible for resolving incidents, supporting service requests, performing DevOps Pipeline builds/code migrations, and enforcing an application governance process that adheres to efficiency without sacrificing compliance disciplines. This Focused L2 leader will be strategically positioned to support multiple lines of business in support of their incidents, maintenance, service requests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Own and execute the following disciplines across~20 applications: Incident Management (Mgt) coordination/resolution., Problem Mgt., Change Mgt., Software Asset Mgt., Service Level Mgt., Knowledge Mgt., and Application Lifecycle Mgt.
Manage a small team of on and offshore resources who are responsible for incident coordination and service management of department applications.
Own critical application health, interfaces, service level reporting, performance alerts, metrics dashboards, and compliance.
Coordinate with internal and external department IT groups to build new environments, maintain existing platforms, manage 3rd party software/licenses, and coordinate all necessary upgrades, patches, and DR/BCP activities.
Execute access management including the onboarding of new application users and governance of application service accounts.
Own application documentation including run books and design documentation and coordinate updates as appropriate.
Be a primary driver of change, proactively close gaps, and work all application into a healthy state.
Perform a critical stakeholder role in requirements related to monitoring, dashboards, and alerting used in support of L2 oversight.
Maintain a growth mindset towards continuous improvement of application resiliency and constantly improving processes and application hardness.

Requirements:

6-8+ years' experience leading globally distributed technology teams (e.g., Operations, Development, Networking, Security).
2-3+ years' direct experience playing a leadership role in application ownership/management including "lights on" oversight and execution.
A strong understanding of the fundamentals of software and IT operations engineering.
Ability to successfully articulate technology concepts and updates to an executive audience.
Understanding of Incident Management and Problem Management processes, including Root Cause Analysis documentation
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and advanced conflict management skills.
Experience using enterprise operation service management software such as Service Now, or SolarWinds Service Desk.
Bachelor's degree preferably in computer science or related discipline.

Preferred

Experience in an application support environment including Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Background in System Engineering.
Hands on experience with programming and software development.
Banking experience - especially related to BAI, BAI2, MT940, file management.
Experience with at least one of the following platforms: MuleSoft API AnyPoint, Cleo Harmony SFTP, BMC Control M Workload Automation Scheduling and Managed File Transfer, ELK, or SQL Full Stack.
