Responsible for applying business knowledge and Human Resources expertise to support the achievement of business goals. The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in the success of the company by offering support and guidance, ensuring compliance, and promoting positive employee and labor relations.   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Provide support and assistance for employee relations and labor relations issues. 
  2. Administration of benefits including assisting employees with benefit related questions. 
  3. Manage leaves of absence including FMLA/STD/LTD.
  4. Facilitate the onboarding of new employees including conducting new hire orientation. 
  5. Assist the HR team with various research projects and/or special projects.
  6. Maintain HRIS system by ensuring that files and records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures. 
  7. Serve as an effective resource for company policy using good judgement, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism to respond to employee relations and labor relations related questions and/or issues.
  8. Provide/facilitate training and development opportunities to employees as needed. 
  9. Administer exit interviews as needed.
  10. Attend daily production meetings and other internal meetings as needed. 
  11. Attend community events for the purpose of increasing our company’s presence and networking. 
  12. Assist with talent acquisition and recruitment processes as needed. 
  13. Assist with safety related initiatives/issues as needed. 
  14. Coordinate company events.
  15. Perform miscellaneous duties in support of all Human Resources staff.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:   

Must have efficient computer skills including intermediate Excel knowledge. Requires the ability to work with other departments and maintain a good rapport with other staff members. Must be able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form.  Must be able to adapt to any situation as it happens.  Must be detail-oriented, and have strong labor relations, and employee relations knowledge. Must maintain confidentiality of all matters. Must be a beacon for change management and results-driven.  Four (4) years of experience in a similar role is a plus. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required. PHR certification is a plus.
