Bilingual Sales and Project Management

 

Job Title:                              Sales and Project Management I

Reports To:                         Sales Manager

Wage Classification:       Non-Exempt

Supervision:                       No direct reports

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for all sales and procurement activity—from processing small individual part orders to quoting, selling, and coordinating large projects.  This individual must be detail oriented and a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.  As part of a team, one must be able to communicate effectively with shop, office, vendors, and customers to ensure timely service.  A person in this position will use drawings, technical specifications, and/or verbal instruction/information.  They must meet deadlines and document progress.   It is vital to this role that one is flexible, dependable, and time conscious.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  1. Requests part quotations from vendors, tracks quotation progress, and organize items in accordance to company procedures.
  2. Issues purchase orders and sales orders in accordance to company procedures.
  3. Revises orders at need.
  4. Issues invoices and assists with collecting payments from customers.
  5. Responsible for arranging all parts and materials for service projects, including expedited handling at need.
  6. Negotiates with customers to arrange and schedule on-site work projects.
  7. Is responsible, in tandem with field service, for maintaining the Sakamura USA job calendar.
  8. Understands how to assess and maintain the profitability of projects.
  9. Works with shipping associate(s) to set up inbound/outbound shipments and other shipping/receiving tasks as needed, both domestically and internationally.
  10. Communicates and consults with vendors, maintaining existing relationships
  11. Ensures efficiency of operations and Customer satisfaction at all times.
  12. Travels to customer sites when required.
  13. Is accurate and efficient whenever entering data.
  14. Keeps item and cost information in QuickBooks accurate and up to date.
  15. Follows established Sakamura procedures for parts and service projects.
  16. Creates and modifies documents in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  17. Understands Sakamura USA business Acumen.
  18. Answers phone calls and responses to emails promptly.
  19. Other duties as assigned.   6. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the SAKAMURA facility.
  7. Maintains safety and security of all work areas, both on and off site (company vehicles, doors secured in the facility, compliance with all company safety and environmental policies, procedures, and practices).
  8. Uses time effectively and efficiently.
  9. Clocks in and out every day.

 

 

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  This is a largely sedentary role.  However, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift file folders and open filing cabinets, as well as bending or standing on a stool as necessary.  This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 30 pounds.  There may also be times when arranging parts for orders that heavier objects weighing up to 75 may need moved.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic
  3. Basic computer skills
  4. Experience in Microsoft Office
  5. Exceptional customer service skills
  6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate openly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  7. Knowledge of travel logistics
  8. Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain an energetic, professional demeanor
  9. Possess, or working towards completion of, a Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES

  1. QuickBooks skills
  2. Experience in a Japanese cultured environment
  3. CPR Training Certificate
