Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Pitman/Ladleman for our operation.  The Pitman/Ladleman is a member of our Melt Department responsible for the setup and maintenance of melting equipment and assists in melting operations.

Competitive wages at $22.20 per hour, benefit/insurance package, 8 paid holidays, 401(k), PTO, Vacation, Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS, and this position is eligible for Production Incentive Program.

Shift:  2nd and/or 3rd shift. Employees must be capable of working any shift to cover production needs and absences as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in preheat, melting, tapping, de-gas, and pouring operations
• Participates in melt furnace reline
• Assists with ingot strips
• Cleans and inspects plates, molds, pouring pits, and ladles
• Sets up plates, molds, and stools
• Inspects argon plugs, top plate, and gate
• Performs other department duties, as assigned

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

• Must be capable of lifting up to 80 lbs. regularly
• Exposed to heat from furnace and hot metal
• Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
• Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Proficient in interpretation and utilization of sketches
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Previous foundry or construction experience preferred

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
