OhioMeansJobs| Cleveland - Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Mechanical Engineer for a Manufacturing Company in Cleveland

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with at least 8 years of experience to lead our design and product development efforts. Your role will involve designing and building electromechanical systems, collaborating with our design team, and taking products from concept to high-volume production. Your day-to-day tasks will include 3D and 2D modeling, product testing, benchmarking, and liaising with vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Mechanical Engineering team in product development from concept through to production.
  • Use system-level thinking to integrate various sub-systems into final designs.
  • Manage a portion of the system design, ensuring project milestones are met across engineering disciplines.
  • Oversee part revisions and maintain documentation for production.
  • Assist the supply chain team with drawings and models for orders.
  • Address quality issues in production, writing corrective action reports and collaborating with suppliers for resolution.

What We Expect:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in complex mechanical engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in solid modeling (Inventor preferred, with FEA experience beneficial).
  • Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings, understanding GD&T and tolerance analyses.
  • Experience in vehicle design, particularly in chassis design, welded structures, and other categories, is advantageous.
  • Hands-on fabrication and testing experience, with a knack for value engineering and component cost reduction.
  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively convey ideas and engage in constructive feedback
 
  
Knowledge of electromechanical systems, with practical skills in prototyping and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with Lathes, Mills, NC/CNC Machinery, CMM, and CAD/CAM.
