Purpose of Job Position
The primary purpose of your job position activities and services necessary to clean and maintain all areas of St. Luke Lutheran Community, and to perform duties as may be directed by your supervisor according to established environmental services policies and procedures and current federal, state and local guidelines and regulations that govern St. Luke to assure that St. Luke is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Personnel Functions
- Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
- Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes, in-services, and orientation programs.
- Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
Housekeeping Services
- Ensure that activities and delivery of services help to support the mission of St. Luke Lutheran Community.
- Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, and all other duties as assigned on a daily basis.
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
- Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
- Clean and maintain floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, vacuuming carpets, etc.
- Clean walls and ceilings by wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, etc.
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, and all other related items, from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
- Clean hallways, stairways, elevators, dining rooms, nursing stations, etc. as directed.
- Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
- Clean vacant rooms and perform terminal cleaning procedures.
- Replenish supplies in assigned work area.
- Inform supervisor of supply needs.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours. Repetitive arm motions to perform some functions.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and all other persons, under all conditions and circumstances.
- May work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
- May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, chemicals, and other conditions, including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
- Communicates with housekeeping personnel and other department personnel.
- May be required to work outside the building.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to Laundry/Housekeeping Director.
Benefits: Paid-Time-Off
Wage: $12.50/ hour
