Summary:
The Simulation Technician provides technical assistance, procurement, and support for educational offerings in the Simulation Center.

Responsibilities:
1.Provides technical assistance, procurement, and support for educational offerings in the Simulation Center.

2.Maintains simulators and medical equipment, equipment inventory, and ensures that all equipment is kept in good working order.

3.Responsible for ordering supplies specific to designated services and maintenance of service inventories in collaboration with the Education Coordinator and Program Director.

4.Assists in programming, setting up and taking down simulation scenarios.

5.Collaborates with other members of the department to ensure operations and simulations function efficiently.

6.Participates in professional development and team building events to expand foundational knowledge of Simulation Center and training scenarios.

7.Other duties as required.

Other information:

Technical Expertise
Training in the areas of computer science, information technology, biomedical engineering, paramedic, EMT or Medical Assistant is preferred. Candidate must be able to bridge medical experience with technical experience (computers) or vice versa.
Experience in a healthcare clinical setting, materials specialist, clinical or biomedical engineering is preferred.
Experience working with various levels within an organization is preferred.
Experience in healthcare is preferred, allowing the technician to recreate realistic health care scenarios for the Simulation Center.
Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
Should have strong computer skills and be a strong end-user of computers.
Strong problem-solving skills used to identify and resolve issues which cause simulation scenarios to stop working, and/or interrupt the learning flow.

Education and Experience
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associates or Bachelors degrees preferred.
Certification: None
Strong working knowledge of computers and a thorough understanding of computer terminology.
Years of relevant experience: One year of experience in healthcare or computer work is preferred.
Years of experience supervising: None.
