Operations Research Analyst Intern

Do you want to be part of dynamic, multi-discipline teams of technical experts discovering the best ways to use diverse new aerospace technologies such as hypersonic concepts, autonomy, machine learning, and advanced propulsion and aircraft design?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, DCS Infoscitex Sector has a need for enthusiastic operations research analyst interns to join our team in Dayton, Ohio (the hub of US Air Force R&D and acquisition). You'll join a team at the forefront of developing and implementing Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis capabilities for our US Air Force and Department of Defense customers. Our teams are conducting analysis that influence the course of future DoD technology development and implementation.

Essential Job Functions:

As an intern, you could expect to:

Develop and implement constructive, virtual (operator-in-the-loop), and M&S-powered simulations across all levels of analysis.

Collaborate with operational and technology experts to ensure realistic and relevant simulation of new technologies in warfighting environments.

Work closely with mentors to develop and execute experiments, analyze results, and present findings.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

At least partial completion of a Bachelor degree in a STEM discipline (Math, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.

Ability to work locally (remote employment is not possible).

Demonstrate initiative and a team orientation.

Apply strong communications skills.

Exhibit strong critical thinking skills.

Experience with object-oriented programming principles.

Desired Skills:

An ideal candidate may bring the following attributes, although these are not firm requirements for consideration:

Active U.S. DoD security clearance, Secret or higher.

Knowledge and experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) environments (constructive and virtual) and/or Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) concepts.

Experience with engagement, mission, or campaign level simulation environments.

Familiarity with modern military systems, both foreign and domestic.
