POSITION: Solutions Engineering Intern (Summer 2024)


REPORTING TO:
Senior Solutions Engineer


SCHEDULE
Up to 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm during Summer 2024 semester


LOCATION

Flexible (Remote or a hybrid schedule in one of Candid's offices in New York, NY; Atlanta, GA; Cleveland, OH; or Williamsburg, VA)


COMPENSATION
$15-20/hour (compensation may vary based on year in school and location)


CAREER EXPLORATION:

You will be immersed in the field of solutions engineering, an exciting combination of helping users determine the right solution for their business and leveraging technical knowledge of how systems work
Learn how to recommend process improvements to business leaders. You will learn the sales process and recommend improvements to the customer journey of API and data products
You'll be exposed to multiple disciplines within business, including product management, software development and sales
You'll learn the inner workings of a mid-sized nonprofit, including participating in organization and team meetings, collaborating between teammates and cross-divisional teams on projects and understanding how your internship helps move Candid's mission forward.


POSITION SUMMARY
Candid offers API and data services products to help our clients get the information they need to do good. You'll join our external integrations team to analyze and improve the resources we make available to our clients to support them as they evaluate, purchase, and integrate these products.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze notes from client calls and API support requests to determine themes, common questions, and opportunities for enhanced resources
Complete market research to benchmark Candid's data and API products against other offerings
Review existing API and data collateral to determine gaps and areas of improvement
Update API documentation, including Postman collections and data dictionaries
Support the creation of API and data product onboarding materials and migration guidance
Present insights and learning to leadership in team meetings or cross-divisional meetings

Interns will be expected to participate in Candid training programs and present on their work at a Town Hall at the conclusion of their internship.


REQUIREMENTS

Pursuing a degree in business management, computer science, data analytics or engineering. Equivalent experience considered
Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize themes from large bodies of qualitative data
Interest in understanding and solving customer problems
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong presentation skills and ability to adapt stories to multiple diverse audiences
Previous experience with APIs/data products a plus
Highly organized
Professional, positive attitude
Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested
