This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment, Connection Systems business unit. Our team has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer - Hybrid and Electric Vehicles. The successful candidate will provide customer quotes, support new vehicle launches and current programs for OEM customers.

About Connection Systems: This business unit provides technologies that serve as the nervous system of the vehicle, including the complete design, manufacture and assembly of the vehicle's connection systems.

This business unit's products include a vast array of connection systems technologies for the vehicle, including: Housings, Terminals, MePa/Pin-headers, High Voltage Chargers and Interconnects, SRS, High Speed Data solutions, On-Glass connections, Electrical Centers, Media Modules and Wireless Charging products.

Our technology provides critical signal distribution and computing power backbone that supports increased vehicle content & electrification, reduced emissions & higher fuel economy.

Your Role

Lead, design and project manage PCBA/electronic components required for EVSE Mobile EV Charging systems from business award through start of production
Provide electrical/electronic expertise and support to the charging team
Coordinate and design change activities between customer, Connection Systems and supply chain management with regular report out to internal program management and other functional teams
Support process activities (analysis, design, reviews, testing, etc. )
Exploit Aptiv's product differentiators providing a competitive advantage (technology, cost, quality, services)
Leverage internal organizations and products for proposals in support of DFM and VA/VE cost optimization
Work with Connection Systems sales & business lines to ensure business objectives met
Create and deliver customer presentations as well as communicates project status via customer systems
Monitor/participate in cord-set builds in various locations & customer launch activities
Travel, as needed, to customer/supplier sites in US, Mexico and potentially China
Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Your Required Background

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
1+ years' experience in automotive electrical/electronic or Mechanical design
Ability to 3D model (UG/NX or Catia, preferably)
Ability to work on site daily in Warren, OH

Your Preferred Background

Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience in vehicle charging/EVSE
Experience with typical industry practices and OEM customer requirements for design of electrical products
Experience with DVP&R testing
Understanding of Electrical Schematics and Vehicle mechanization
Strong background in PCB technology & high power switching/circuit protection
In-depth knowledge: PCBA Product Validation Testing, Industry Certifications (UL, IEC)
Working knowledge of UG/NX and CATIA systems
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.)
Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
Strong presence, poise and persuasiveness to establish a high level of credibility quickly
