Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine's faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day.

The purpose of the Research Assistant role is to assist with the performance of laboratory functions within the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office. They will also coordinate with clinical research staff to manage samples from patients enrolled in cancer-related clinical trials and make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.

This will be a 2nd shift position with work hours from 3-11:30 pm.

Essential Functions


Process human blood and other specimens following research protocols.
Document procedures and record data according to research protocols and lab requirements.
Operate laboratory equipment.
Manage shipping, receiving, and storage of research samples.
Ensure equipment calibrations and logs are up to date.
Keep accurate receiving and storage records for trial specimens.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree.

Required Experience

Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.

Additional Qualifications Considered

1+ years relevant clinical research/lab experience.
