Job Description

Cleveland-Cliffs has an opening for a Payroll Analyst at either our location in Cleveland, Ohio or at Burns Harbor, Indiana. The Payroll Analyst role is responsible for various aspects of payroll including, but is not limited to, providing accurate data in preparation of employee payroll, partnering with other functional areas to ensure deadlines for payroll submission are met, reconciling payroll, and supporting internal and external customers. Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, ability to adapt to change, and proficiency in multi-tasking key attributes. This position requires a team player who can work well in a fast-paced environment.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Process all aspects of the payroll for assigned Companies including ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and maintaining appropriate support.
Comply with all applicable governmental laws and regulations including but not limited to garnishments, federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements.
Provide support to both internal and external customers to ensure requests are met in a timely and accurate manner.
Work effectively with 3rd party Vendors.
Provide problem resolution to employees with payroll related inquiries.
Assist in identifying and developing system and process improvements resulting in enhanced control, accuracy, and efficiency.
Ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business-related field or equivalent experience.
Ability to work independently.
Detail oriented.
Strong communication skills.
Monday - Friday schedule.
Some limited travel possible.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with system implementations or conversions.
Ceridian, Workday, or ADP Software experience.
Prior experience supporting payroll for a large industrial manufacturer.
FCP or CPP.
