Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio is seeking a mission-minded Associate to join us as a full time (37.5 per week) Regional Field Manager in the Columbus Region.

SUMMARY

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio (PPGOH) and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio (PPAO) boasts a grassroots infrastructure across the state which works to defend and promote reproductive freedom. The Regional Field Manager coordinates and implements a field organizing program designed to increase the number of reproductive health activists in a multi-county region. The advocacy issues include family planning, contraceptive equity, and access to emergency contraceptives, comprehensive sex education and access to abortion.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Recruits supporters, action network members, online activists, and volunteers. Facilitates trainings for volunteers of PPAO or members of the general public who want to dedicate their time to advocacy.

In conjunction with education and development, builds upon existing relationships and creates new partnerships with allied organizations to strengthen PPGOH/PPAO visibility, credibility, and effectiveness in the community.

Manages volunteer phone banking, canvassing and advocacy event recruitment.

Organize and recruit volunteers for direct actions, lobby days, and electoral work to hold elected officials and decision makers accountable.

Works with members of campus (Planned Parenthood Generation Action) programs to train and support volunteer advocates and monitors progress of campus chapter goals.

Recruits patients and volunteers to participate in the Patient Advocate Program and to share their reproductive health and education stories.

Coordinates with external affairs team to participate in community outreach events, health fairs, and speaking and education engagements.

Tracks and records work across region using NGP VAN voter and volunteer database.

Performs other duties as assigned.

This position includes time spent organizing and advocating on behalf of both PPGOH and PPAO in 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 capacities.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

High school diploma or equivalent required

Previous experience in grassroots campaigns. At least 2 years of experience in campaigns or non-profits working with community members and volunteers preferred.

Interest in reproductive health care, rights and social justice issues. Commitment to reproductive freedom and to the mission, goals, and objectives of PPGOH and PPAO.

Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation, and image) skills and the ability to move people to action.

Excellent time and project management skills. Ability to coordinate several simultaneous projects and events.

Strong computer skills, including database and internet proficiency.

Ability to work professionally in an often tense environment.

Ability to function well as a team member, especially on a remote team.

Ability to communicate professionally with individuals of diverse backgrounds in a non-judgmental manner.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sensitivity in dealing with clients sexuality and reproductive healthcare choices.

Ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships.

Must be self-directed with ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

Supervises volunteers, interns, and fellows in a multi-county region as needed.
