Highland County Community Action Organization Inc. has full time position available for a Health Professional (Dietician/Diet Tech/ Registered Nurse). This position will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of grant funded programs that are housed in Family Health Services. The Health Professional will be required to be familiar with the everyday operation of the Women, Infant, Children (WIC) Nutrition program. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, certifying eligible participants for WIC including developing individual care plans, charting, nutrition assessments, teaching nutrition/breastfeeding classes, and home visiting.

Qualified candidates for this position will also work with our Title X Reproductive Health and Wellness Clinic. The Health Professional will routinely preform blood and urine sample collections, injections, and assist health providers with needed procedures. The Health Professional will provide HIV prevention education, counseling, and testing. This position involves pregnancy testing, all option pregnancy counseling, individual education and appropriate referrals.

Make referrals to appropriate health, social and educational services as needed in a timely manner. The Health professional may also be trained to facilitate smoking cessations and provide safe sleep education and provide other duties as assigned. This position will be asked to attend staff meetings, community outreach events, and trainings as needed. This position may work at multiple sites. This position is for 32-40 hours per week. Working hours are generally between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. A rare weekend or evening may be required. This position offers flexible hours while meeting clinic needs.

Applicant must be a Registered Dietitian, Diet Technician, or Registered Nurse with current license, excellent administrative, and communication. Computer experience is necessary. Experience in the area of Maternal and Child Health and/or Women’s Health would be a plus. This position offers a fringe benefit package that includes 14 paid holidays, sick and annual leave, health insurance, and retirement. The Health Professional is under the direction of the Family Health Services Director.

Applicants for this position must be able to work will with people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. Applicants must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and be insurable under the agency fleet insurance policy and must be able to bend, stoop, and lift over 40 pounds.
