About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

The FirstEnergy Analytics team supports the hardware and software used for business analytics at FirstEnergy. The team works with FirstEnergy employees to understand their business processes and then guides the use of technology to support them.

An IT Developer on the Analytics Team is responsible for working with business units and IT to deliver and maintain applications that enable business transformation. The IT developer focuses on technical solutions and applications, understanding business processes and translating them into work projects in the form of analytics and dashboards. They will participate in the production support and enhancement lifecycle of FirstEnergy's Analytics systems.

Responsibilities Include:


* Effectively visualize data in reporting applications (Power BI, QlikView, RapidMiner) to provide business value and answer business questions.
* Collaborate with Data Engineers to assist in supporting Azure data warehousing solution.
* Design and develop reporting application scripts that import data from data marts or transactional systems and unit test the data extractions to verify they meet customer requirements.
* Understand and promote use of tools and applications supported by the Analytics Team.

* Work with Business developers to promote Power BI Governance and self-service analytics across FirstEnergy.
* Plan and facilitate the Power BI user group monthly meetings

* Gather the requirements for new reporting projects and provide development estimates.
* Manage projects related to applications and hardware supported by the Analytics team.
* Manage work assignments given to internal and external developers to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
* Create and execute comprehensive unit and integration test plans.
* Investigate and resolve problems with reporting applications in a production support environment including responding to problem tickets 24/7.
* Adhere to IT Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) Controls and CIP regulations.

Qualifications include:


* Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Computer Science, or related degree with 4 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, consideration given to non-degree candidates with 6 years equivalent hands on experience.

* Related experience includes experience as a Developer, Business Analyst or experience in a related analysis field

* Demonstrated driver of solutions with proven ability to collaborate with others to achieve the objectives of an assignment or project
* Understanding and willingness to embrace IT application development standards and processes
* Knowledge of project management concepts and tools
* Experience facilitating meetings in support of your project
