Job Description

Job Summary:
The Digital Bindery Assistant performs a variety of basic hand and machine operations to gather, collate, fold, staple, or bind printed materials produced by digital printing operations. This position may complete other duties as required. This position will follow all safety standards of BTPS.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Reviews job orders to assure correct processing and procedures.
Assist Digital Bindery Operator as needed.
Set-up, operate and change over trimmer.
Packs boxes off-line.
Monitors materials in process to detect previous processing errors (incorrect assembly, printing errors, paper damage, etc.) and notifies supervisor if problem is serious.
Follow all quality standards.
Maintains accurate production and time records.
Perform preventive maintenance.
Maintains good housekeeping standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to customers or employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
