The Opportunity

To gain weld experience in a fab shop while finishing schooling.

What you'll do
  • Following safety regulations (PPE)
  • Pass 2G FCAW weld certification.
  • Interpret blueprints, follow weld procedures, and measurements to plan layouts.
  • Weld small and large components.
  • Use of overhead cranes.
  • Weld components in flat and horizontal position.

Welders are also responsible for studying blueprints related to the items they will work on, ensuring that all needed materials are available, and maintaining the welding tools they use.

Education / Experience: (an equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below)

Degree: High School Diploma or in process of obtaining

Years of Experience: 1 Area: Welding and fabrication

Competencies / Technical Skills:

Core Competencies: Welding certificates. Blueprint reading

Organizational Competencies:

Additional Position Competencies (max 4): Agility. Communication. Problem solving.

Technical Skills: Mechanically Inclined. Advanced Blueprint Interpretation. Math skills.

Physical Requirements (Approximate time spent to be included in physical demands such a walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements (lbs.) and/or other requirements such as vision or hearing.

Standing, Walking, Kneeling: Up to 100%

Lifting up to 60lbs: Up to 15%
