Summary of Position Functions

This is a summer intern position to work in the controls and building automation department to assist our team in the design, startup, and commissioning of the controls system we will be installing this year. The candidate will assist Veregy in their goal of simplifying and accelerating the energy transition by assisting customers in improving the operational efficiency of buildings to reduce energy usage.

Essential Position Functions

Assis in completion of onsite startup and commissioning of the controls on various HVAC systems.
Assist Veregy controls engineers with programming and drawings.
Assist in the creation and development of graphical user interfaces for building automation systems.
Communicate and work with subcontractors.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None at this time.

Education and Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Currently enrolled in an electrical, mechanical, or other engineering bachelor program or equivalent.
Experience working with controls systems either in educational program or through prior work experience is preferred but not required.
Responsible self-starter with the ability to take direction and work alone.
The ability to drive oneself to jobsite locations. Travel is required. Expenses will be reimbursed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to write routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
Ability to speak and communicate effectively.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to solve open-ended problems.
Knowledge of HVAC systems and their controls is a bonus.
