Working as a QCS (Quality Control System) Application Engineer, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in PAPI P&P Solutions, Process Automation Process Industries (PAPI) in Westerville, Ohio, providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals.
In this role, you will make technical recommendations in various phases of customer projects to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and safety guidelines.

This position reports to
QCS Engineering Manager
Your responsibilities

Provide technical support as required for software specials proposals
Planning and Schedule Management
Ensure direct manager is current on all scheduled project activities
Develop System Functional Specification for all projects when lead role is assigned
Manage System software implementation when lead role is assigned
Support Project Manager with overall project plan
Prepare System software and make ready for internal integration test
Support integration test of systems during internal One hundred Percent Test
Support Factory Acceptance Test with Customer, if included in project
Provide feedback to project team during design phase of projects
Develop software and graphic specials to meet project scope
Support system implementation at Customer site and support start up activities
Follow up with a system software issues, document on support line and drive to resolution
Provide Level 3 support line coverage on periodic basis
Feedback technical issues to Engineering Manager for knowledge transfer to entire group
Ensure support line issues are fully documented
Provide Technical support of project activities during the start up, optimization and results stage of the project. Ensure Customer feedback is communicated to Project Manager

Your background

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical) or Paper/Computer Science required and minimum 4 years working within a manufacturing environment or with capital projects.
QCS application experience in the Pulp and Paper industry preferred.
Fluent in written and verbal English, Spanish a plus
Strong leadership and communications skills
Working with any Distributed Control Systems
Working with any PLC equipment
Previous Industrial Automation Experience a plus
Must be able to engage in a team setting
Travel up to 30 percent may be required
VMWare vSphere knowledge preferred
VMWare Workstation preferred
Networking knowledge
Working with Function Blocks, Structured Text, Ladder Logic
Installing and configuring Windows Server Operating Systems
Installing and configuring Windows Workstation operating systems
Installing and configuring active directory
Configuring networks and switches including vlans
Troubleshooting networks and using network troubleshooting tools
Experience configuring storage hardware
Using Visual Studio, specifically C#
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $61,900 and $115,100 annually.
