This position is for individuals who matched for residency through ASHP

Position Summary

This position is a 12-month postgraduate pharmacy education and training program designed to provide practical experience in the provision of pharmaceutical care. The pharmacy resident will continue to develop advanced knowledge and skills to prepare for specialized pharmacy practice. Emphasis will be placed on communication, lifelong learning, leadership, evidence-based medication management and safety. In order to meet these goals, the resident will experience a variety of patient care and administrative pharmacy practice areas. Upon completing the experience, trainees will develop a strong foundation to practice in a specialized practice area and/or an entry level pharmacy administrative role.

Essential Functions


Collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Ensure safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy
Prevent, identify, and resolve drug-related problems
Ensure continuity of care
Participate in the formulary process
Serve as an informational and patient problem solving resource for clinical staff pharmacists
Completing a pharmacy practice research project and present results at a state/regional or other relevant conference
Active participation in local, state, and national professional organizations.
Provide pharmacy education to a variety of pharmacy learners (students, residents, staff) as appropriate
Program specific activities and staffing as outlined in the Residency Program Specific Manual
