The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Merchandise team is in search of people who are passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience.
TOLEDO ZOO IS LOOKING FOR APPLICANTS WHO:
- Are successful at achieving goals and going above and beyond
- Have the desire to work in a fun filled, fast pace and high energy atmosphere
- Will execute basic math skills and follow merchandise procedures and guidelines
- Deliver strong customer service & communication skills
- Enjoy creating memorable experiences for our guests
- Retail sales and Counterpoint Register System experience is a plus!
RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
- Checking in and stocking merchandise, including a semi-annual inventory
- Operating registers for sales of merchandise and for rental of guest equipment
- Oversee the penny presses, viewers, and hurricane machines
- Taking direction and working independently and with a team
- Approaching guests in a fun and positive manner
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area
MINIMUM TRAINING & REQUIRMENTS:
- Work schedules may include evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have the physical ability to lift 35 pounds, work on your feet, and be able to walk the Zoo grounds for several hours at a time.
- You may also be exposed to inclement weather conditions such as heat in the summer or low temperatures in the winter at the outdoor stands.
- The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
