A highly motivated and skilled researcher in the field of hematology with experience in animal models of thrombosis, platelet and leukocyte biology.
Projects in the lab address the contribution of coagulation Factor XII in sterile inflammation and venous thrombosis. We have shown that FXII signaling influences leukocyte function. We aim to better understand the signaling mechanisms, the cross-talk between XII and other trans-membrane proteins as well as its intracellular trafficking. In a translational approach, we are currently working on targeted inhibition of FXII functions in disease models including diabetes, deep venous thrombosis and cancer biology.
The qualified candidate should be able to work independently, be able to critically appraise the literature, assist with the design and planning of projects, oversee collaborations, manage animal models, carry out research on an assigned project, prepare manuscripts and contribute preliminary data, background and experimental design for grant proposals.
