Basic Function:

Recruit students for the College of Communication and Information (CCI). Reports to designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Collaborate with CCI staff and leadership to develop, coordinate, and implement recruitment strategies for a specific population of students.

Execute recruitment strategies effectively to meet short- and long- term goals.

Lead the implementation and execution of college recruitment events and support college participation in University recruitment events.

May serve as project manager and administrative support for CCI Summer Workshops.

Assist the CCI Strategic Communications and External Affairs team in the production of student recruiting materials.

Collaborate with diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging staff and college/school leadership to ensure that CCI employs diverse and inclusive recruiting practices.

Access, analyze, and track student data in University CRM systems.

Manage prospective student tours/visits, and coordinate strategic engagement opportunities with area middle and high schools.

Collaborate with various University departments including the Admissions Office to maximize the results of student recruitment.

May serve as the coordinator of the CCI student ambassadors program.

May supervise student employees and interns.

May support graduate and international student recruiting efforts within the college.

Participate in department, division, and University special projects as required.

Serve on various departmental, divisional, and University committees.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable:

 

This position will support our undergraduate recruitment efforts through collaborating with CCI staff and leadership to develop, coordinate and implement recruitment strategies.  The position will also support graduate recruitment efforts through digital outreach, digital interaction with prospective graduate students online, and tracking and reporting prospective student data.  This graduate student engagement will provide frontline support to graduate students as they move from prospective students to applicants to admitted students in the university systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; minimum of two years’ higher education administrative experience. Must be able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to travel.

License/Certification:

Knowledge Of:

Personal computer applications (e.g. MS Office Suite including database, spreadsheet, word processing, internet, e-mail; ERP application) *
College/university administrative policies and procedures *
Various curricula, admission criteria, FERPA, immigration, and policies affecting students *

Skill In:

Written and interpersonal communication *
Project management *
Public speaking and delivering presentations *
Developing positive and collaborative relationships *

Ability To:

Demonstrate leadership skills *
Learn and understand the curriculum and degree programs in CCI *
Promote and communicate about CCI programs to students and families*

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Post bacccalaureate coursework and experience working with students

Knowledge of recruitment best practices

Experience working with CRM systems

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent will be required to work a flexible schedule, travel from building to building, off campus, and travel internationally.
