POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, is responsible for performing various materials handling duties with powered material handling equipment in a safe manner. Also responsible to verify location, condition, and amount of stock compared to the information in the perpetual inventory report. Responsible for scanning outside processing material and creating bill of ladings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Safely operates powered industrial lift truck.

Moves materials in amounts to avoid personal injury or damage to equipment, material, products or the facility.

Stages, loads and unloads shipping trucks.

Prints and distributes barcode labels to appropriate personnel.

Interprets labels to ensure proper disposition of materials. Verifies totes for shipment, i.e., quantity, part, etc.

Labels and repack parts as needed and required.

Weighs materials or products and records on tags or labels.

Process cycle count sheets, cycle count requests, and labeling audits.

Handling of paperwork inbound/outbound and distribution to appropriate personnel.

Receiving of inbound materials with proper logging and procedure.

Obtain and store skids, pallets, and dunnage. Remove labels from inbound dunnage as needed.

Proper storage and placement of purchased parts and other received materials.

Weight count verification of required materials.

Creating miscellaneous shippers for outside processing.

Ability to scan, create shippers and send asn's to outside customers (Ford, GM, etc.).

Daily count of Finished Goods inventory.

Identify and/or initiate appropriate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, packaging, storage, and/or labeling through designated channels.

Trains new or less experienced employees on the job.

Performs maintenance checks to make sure the hi-lo is in proper working condition. Fills out daily hi-lo maintenance check-off list and other pertinent paperwork. Reports any safety or mechanical problems with the hi-lo to a supervisor.

Unloads and properly labels and stores incoming products.

Adheres to all safety regulations.

Maintains excellent housekeeping habits.

Performs other essential functions as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Prefer high school diploma or the equivalent. Must have a valid hilo operator's drivers license or permit. Ability to use weight scales accurately and to make precise counts.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Computer literate.
MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Shipping Hilo Drivers must be able to stand on the concrete floor for the duration of work shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor, and use arms and hands. Visual precision is needed for visually inspecting parts for quality at production equipment speed, and for reading documents, machine gauges, and precision measuring instruments.

The driver must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and repetitively lift up to 35 pounds from and to a height of 10-56 inches for the work shift.

Hilo Drivers may be hired to work in a specific area, however, all team members are expected to be able to work in all production areas in order to promote productivity, quality & safety.

Visual requirements include passing driver's test and reading documents, tags and labels.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Employee is subject to high noise levels from operating machines and physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, breathing fumes, dust, and mist and skin exposure to oils and fluid.
