The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for a range of duties and responsibilities including supporting employees and managers on employee labor relations processes, building trust, collaboration, and open communication to support a positive workplace culture, and acting as a liaison on HR related processes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Builds strong relationships with employees and managers by providing guidance and acting as liaison to assist in resolving disputes related to the interpretation and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Refers employees to appropriate HR team based on questions and concerns. Provides HR updates at site-level labor management meetings and addresses labor concerns with employees and management.
  • Assists with supporting managers on a variety of employment and labor relations processes including but not limited to, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), onboarding, offboarding, Performance Improvement Plans (PIP), incident management process, corrective action/progressive discipline, and the grievance process. Assists management with corrective action and/or progressive discipline during the incident management process.
  • Assists with investigations of workplace concerns by discussing concerns with complaints(s). Assists with gathering witness statements, gathering and reviewing facts, presenting findings, and meeting with appropriate parties to discuss outcomes. Supports employee and labor relations management by serving as a notetaker in incident hearings, drafting and reviewing relevant documents throughout corrective action and/or progressive discipline process.
  • Navigates managers through performance improvement process by consulting management about performance concerns, educating managers on the PIP process, providing necessary resources, assisting with reviewing PIP content with employees and assists with executing agreed upon plans.
  • Assists with maintaining current personnel records, assists with computing and preparing payroll, and explaining payroll information to employees and managers. Forwards workers’ compensation, insurance forms, and other HR related documents to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Attends job fairs and scheduled and assists with new hire orientations. Coordinates training initiatives with HR and Management teams. Assists with employee benefit administration, self-insured workers’ compensation, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversees the employee cellular phone program.

  • A candidate in this classification must exercise independent judgment, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, exhibit sound decision-making when faced with complex or unique situations, utilize discretion and confidentiality, consistently deliver general customer service in a professional fashion, and display strong skills in verbal, visual, and written communication, organizational abilities, time management and analytical thinking.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • A valid Ohio driver’s license are required.
  • Two (2) years HR experience in employee and labor relations preferred.
