Summary

This position will have the opportunity to interact with engineers, engineering and manufacturing leaders, project leaders, technicians, and cross-functional project stakeholders during the co-op assignment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform daily in-process testing and dock audits.

Procure engineering samples and prototype components

Analyze root cause of manufacturing downtime and quality issue and develop and implement continuous improvement suggestions

Job Duties:

Be given projects that will involve a wide variety of activities including data collection on manufacturing processes, simple design projects, procedure writing and revision, etc.

Participate in technical communication and discussion on analysis results to put his/her engineering knowledge into practice

Assist Engineers in the design and development of tooling, processes and equipment

Travel to local suppliers for pick-up and delivery of product

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills:

Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable and able to focus on task at hand

Possess strong time management skills

Must be able to organize a variety of work assignments and determine most efficient process to complete each project

Good computer skills: CAD software; MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Understanding mechanical drawings and basic drafting knowledge

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Effective time management skills

Ability to understand technical operating, service or repair manuals

Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

Working knowledge of gages such as dial calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner

Ability to speak and write English fluently

Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately

Coordinate with the organization's internal teams to improve product quality and meet customer requirements
