What is a HR Generalist/Recruiter?

The HR Generalist/Recruiter will contribute to the success of the Human Resources department through recruiting and a variety of other professional level HR related activities.

 

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have three years human resources experience with one year in recruiting (preferred). Ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain a high level of confidentiality. This is a part-time position (24 hours/week) located in person at our offices in Strongsville, OH.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage recruiting process.         
  • Source qualified applicants.          
  • Screen/interview applicants to obtain work history, training, education and job skills.
  • Organize on-site interviews, including travel arrangements when necessary.
  • Recommends candidate offer amounts and presents offers.

2. Coordinate temporary employee usage and act as backup to Payroll for reporting hours to appropriate agencies.

3. Competitive Salary Reviews         

  • Work with vendor to research, compile and present competitive salary reviews.
  • Recommends changes to pay and/or pay structure

4. Administers Compliance Programs.          

  • Maintain AAP program.          
  • Maintain the annual EEO-1 and Vet-100 reporting.          
  • Maintain applicant tracking records, reports and other systems.

5. Administer pre-employment testing.

6. Attend job fairs and recruiting networking functions.

7. Assist with onboarding program and effectiveness.

8. Write new job descriptions and assist with annual job description review.

9. Maintain performance review, compensation, title or position change processes.  

10. Perform other HR related duties (e.g., coordinate and plan company events and activities, coordinate quarter employee service award luncheon and recognition, maintain bulletin board postings, assist with employee communications, administer bereavement and jury duty leave, order flowers, exit interviews, maintain documents and files, employment verification, respond to external requests as it relates to HR as appropriate, etc.).

11. Provide backup to other members of the HR Team as needed.

12. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.

13. Use appropriate computer programs to create and maintain business forms, reports, spreadsheets and databases.

14. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.

15. Run business errands.

16. Help with event planning and administration as needed.

17. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.

18. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.

19. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.

20. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.

21. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Required Experience and Education

  • Three years human resources experience required with one year in recruiting preferred. • Bachelor's degree preferred. • Proficient in MS Office products. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain a high level of confidentiality. • Ability to interact with all levels of employees. • Excellent customer service. • Successful passing of a routine motor vehicle and credit report. • Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English. 

 

Physical and Technical Environment

  • Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator. • Some travel required, exposure to varying environments and cultures at the job site, changing deadlines, strict time constraints. • Clean and orderly manufacturing environment and/or normal office conditions, changing deadlines and project requirements, strict time constraints.
