The newly formed Data Literacy Team was created to resolve the inefficiencies with metadata management, working in cross-functional squads to provide innovative solutions for data analysts' and data scientists' problems. With a focus on effectiveness, efficiency and regulatory compliance, the Data Catalog Product Owner will lead strategies, roadmaps and projects building out the Data Literacy ecosystem upon the Key's Data infrastructure (cloud & on-prem). As we look forward to scaling up Key's Data Catalog, KeyBank is eager to find a self-starting, experienced Product Owner to lead the change.

A successful candidate for this role will have a background in metadata management/data management/data governance, with a proven track record of developing multi-year strategies, roadmaps & driving adoption as well as leading projects at an enterprise level. Focused on providing solutions that meet the needs of business & analysists to accelerate data discovery & regulatory efforts. The candidate should be comfortable in a dynamic environment with fast iterations and a rapidly evolving data ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities
Create a best-in-class experience for associates to discover, collaborate & use data.
Collaborate with stakeholders (business and data engineering) to prioritize quarterly and annual roadmap aligned to business objectives.
Drive adoption of the data catalog by demonstrating the value to Key's analyst community and using gamification strategies to encourage contribution and collaboration.
Develop KPIs for data management such as metadata completeness, data quality and data catalog adoption.
Mature KeyBank's data management practices including data catalog, data quality, data lineage and data stewardship.
Integrate tools to enable sharing of metadata between data catalog, databases, data quality tools, BI tools, etc.
Support the Enterprise Data & Analytics Services vision by identifying and analyzing the data and analytical needs of lines of business, technology, marketing, and other connected programs and projects
Provide thought leadership to evolve and mature KeyBank's Data Management practices & metadata strategies covering Data Catalog, Data Inventory, Data Quality and Data Lineage

8 + years of data management expertise
Bachelors required, with preference to degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
High curiosity - eager to figure things out, solve problems, research & learn
Knowledge of large-scale data ecosystems & how data moves through data supply chains
Strong product vision / focus with track record of successful delivery; ability to prioritize and make tough choices based on competing priorities
Deep understanding of technical and business metadata that is available in modern databases and BI tools
Experience working with one or more tools used to support data management, data catalog, data quality, data lineage, business glossary and metadata management, data profiling, data quality and data modeling (e.g., Alation, Collibra, OvalEdge, ERWIN, BigID, BigEye, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud database providers (e.g., Google cloud platform (GCP)/BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS, etc.)
Intermediate SQL skills and foundational knowledge of database models
Hands on experience with Agile and project management methodologies with confirmed leadership capabilities, and excellent business partner management and presentation skills
Ability to convey complex concepts visually using modern diagram approaches (e.g., Swimlane, UML, etc.)
Critical Thinking / Problem Solving: Leverages critical thinking and business acumen to provide solutions to increasingly more complex problems

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $123,000 to $200,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.

Key has implemented a role-based Mobile by Design approach to our employee workspaces, dedicating space to those whose roles require specific workspaces, while providing flexible options for roles which are less dependent on assigned workspaces and can be performed effectively in a mobile environment. As a result, this role may be Mobile or Home-based, which means you may work primarily either at a home office or in a Key facility to perform your job duties.
