Position Overview




The Riverside Research Software Applications Team (SWAT) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to support the deployment of our software products to Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) networks. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting and monitoring our product deployments, automating and optimizing our operations and processes, and improving deployment strategies. Responsibilities




Facilitating and executing software product deployments by collaborating with developers in writing Helm charts, or docker-compose.yaml files to deploy applications on-prem and/or cloud-based environments
Assisting in automating and optimizing delivery and deployment of software products via Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Monitoring operations and applications
Working/coordinating with multiple platform teams (i.e., customer, commercial, and company internal)
Helping product road map planning by communicating delivery and deployment dependencies and timelines
Helping orchestrate product integration with an emphasis on providing proactive identification and resolution of product dependencies and conflicts


Qualifications




Required Qualifications:

Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related field of study
5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer including planning, advising on, and executing DevOps responsibilities and CI/CD solutions
10 years of experience in command line environment (Bash)
10 years of experience with or on Linux or Unix based OS systems using common UNIX/Linux tools (ssh, tar, sed, grep, awk, vi, emacs, cron, etc...)
5 years of experience with build systems and maintaining tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, etc.
5 years of experience with source control management systems
Security+ training/certification CompTIA
Experience with Docker and Podman
Experience working on deployment environments including virtual machines
Experience with Python or similar languages
Self-motivated, detail oriented, responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily direction; effective/efficient written/verbal communication skills
Ability to work and interact with technically and organizationally diverse personnel

Desired Qualifications:

Master's Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or other related field of study
Experience writing Helm Charts and using container orchestration applications including Kubernetes
Experience with Docker Compose
Experience with Argo Project or Argo CD
Experience managing and maintaining Linux servers
Experience working/developing in multi-domain, multi-cloud, hybrid-cloud environments
Experience deploying applications on SIPRNet and JWICS
Experience working with cloud environments like AWS and/or Azure
Familiarity with the National Air and Space Intelligence Center's Mission Readiness Environment (MRE)
Familiarity with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's Research Laboratory Environment (RLE)
Familiarity with Army Cloud
Scrum training/certification from Scrum Alliance

$130,000 - $150,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
