Job Description and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Foreman to oversee the construction operations within our PA solar field projects. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe execution of all activities, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and productivity. This job will report to the job site Superintendent and/or Construction Manager.
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the solar field construction projects and onsite laborers. Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, safety and specifications.
Directly supervise and provide oversight to a team of field workers, including solar technicians, laborers, and subcontractors. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
Facilitate clear and effective communication between all parties to resolve issues, address concerns, and ensure project objectives are met.
Maintain high-quality standards throughout all phases of the PA project. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times. Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all team members.
Run and maintain extended boom telehandler forklifts (ie 10,000 lb) and/or skid steer loader/forklift track machines.
Oversee and support the installation of solar racking and module panels for large utility-scale solar field plant.
Work on the assembly of structural steel components for the solar system.
Unload trucks and carry pallets with the extended boom forklifts and skid steers with materials and equipment.
Ensures that the equipment is operated within the limits of its specifications as indicated on the equipment manual.
Follow and perform basic machine maintenance.
Engage with on-the-job training based on your skill level.
Continuously learn about new technologies, equipment, and techniques related to the solar energy systems.
All other duties as required/assigned.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in solar field construction, maintenance, or related field, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
In-depth knowledge of solar energy systems, construction techniques, and industry best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work outdoors and may require working in all weather conditions.
Ability to perform the physical work required for structural steel erection and solar panel installation.
Capable of performing repetitive duties, including lifting, kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
Experience using basic hand and power tools
Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
Work will require travel to work sites specified in locations above.
Must be safety conscious and required to follow all safety procedure and use required personal protective equipment.
OSHA certification and other relevant safety training, preferred.
Compensation and Specifics:
Compensation based on experience of operator skills.
Operators Certificate of Qualification Documents to run equipment or equivalent experience is preferred.
Expected Hours: 40 to 50 hours/week, up to 60 hours/week if Saturdays.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, some Saturday work
