Your Opportunity as the Senior Analyst, Finance & Data Analytics

Support the activities and initiatives of the finance data analytics team by having an integrated role in the workflows that support our technology assets. The role focuses on delivering value to business partners by performing analytics and improving business processes, reporting, and insight generation. Develop and execute test plans, planning for changes or upgrades to our technology tools, and working with our Information Systems team to prioritize and manage the creation of new assets, fixes, or enhancements that need to be completed.

Location: Orrville, OH Corporate Offices

Work Arrangements: Hybrid, 30% in office expectation

In this role you will:

Business Analytics & Process Re-engineering

Drive insight and action through data analysis and data modelling

Build & maintain dashboards & interactive visualizations that convey analytical insights

Re-engineer or automate processes and educate users by integrating new tools, technologies, or data management practices

Understand and synthesize existing Smucker processes and use cases for information

Review and challenge existing processes across the finance function and be familiar enough with various data management tools and concepts to be able to make recommendations for analytics or automation

Assist Robotic Process Automation team with application of advanced data processing techniques used as part of automation pipelines

Testing & Reporting Responsibilities

Assist in test planning, analyzing requirements, developing test cases/scenarios, and executing test cases

Support the planning, design, and execution of data source and report testing

Develop test scripts and test reports for new and/or changing data sources

Test and validate new data sources are complete, accurate, reasonable, and representative of the intended data source purpose

Perform data regression testing for changes and updates to existing data sources

Own the promote to PROD process for universal business reports

Technology Leadership

Understand the Smucker Finance technology road maps and possess a continuing learning mindset towards the understanding and integration of new technologies

Train other Finance professionals on new technologies and processes as they are integrated into the Finance function

Communicate ways that existing processes can be improved, automated, or enhanced

Enterprise Reporting & Run Model

Assist users in creating or updating data models that have been previously deployed

Ensure conformance to enterprise data governance standards, audit, & SOX compliance requirements

IT & Compliance Responsibilities

Responsible for change management testing and documentation as it relates to certified reports subject to key SOX controls

Serve as primary contact and liaison to Financial Compliance and IS Risk, Standards, and Compliance to ensure business reports meet SOX control requirements/guidelines and ITGC's (IT general controls)

Communicate the importance of enterprise data governance and help staff complete governance related tasks as necessary

Ensure finance users understand use cases and compliance requirements necessary when using technology tools

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science or related field

3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, analytics, statistics, or related function involving data analysis

Experience with scripting or programming (R and/or Python preferred)

Ability to work with large data sets with ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

Understanding and experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools

Strong problem solving or troubleshooting skills

Ability to adapt to changing requirements and prioritize deadlines

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience

Experience with other programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL)

Project management experience

Tibco Spotfire experience

Oracle SQL Developer experience

Git experience
