Job Description
Develop and validate automotive electronics parts, including managing development with Tier 2 suppliers and creating and performing performance validation. Perform actual hands-on performance testing that may include developing unique requirements on system components and vehicle testing to guarantee product acceptance. Support maturation testing to cover different configurations of components to ensure all variations work correctly. Direct the Honda selected suppliers to design and manage the component to maturation schedule requirements. Wrote clear and concise reports, presentations and/or technical documents to make a record of the development activities, communicating directly with Technical Experts. Recognize and specify critical functional (hardware, software & communication) requirements for infotainment system components to match customer demands. Develop, write, and issue specification requirements for system components. Analyze & interpret test results, predicting performance/failure and providing required product/design data. Effectively communicate the development schedule and reporting status of component functions to different company areas / departments. Research and influence the future path and trends of infotainment system architecture, features/functions, and efficient development methods. Assess the marketplace demands with a competitive viewpoint of infotainment system component requirements. Propose, develop, and justify any new functions (hardware, electrical, software, HMI, etc.) to meet the market requirements. Constantly communicate with suppliers to report company requirements, remain aware of development status, and arrange scheduling of reporting content (ex: System Verification, Software GO, etc.). Meet development milestones on schedule with a quality mindset and support newer associates in their project management with suppliers.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering; 3 yrs related professional exp; 3 yrs exp performing actual hands-on testing that may include developing unique requirements to system components and vehicle testing to guarantee product performance; 3 yrs exp writing clear and concise technical reports, presentations and/or technical documents to make a record of the development activities; 3 yrs exp supporting maturation testing to cover different configurations of components to ensure all variations work correctly; 3 yrs exp developing, writing and issuing specification requirements for system components; 3 yrs exp analyzing/interpreting electrical test results, predicting performance/failure and providing required product/design data; 3 yrs exp recognizing and specifying critical functional (hardware, software & communication), the ability to use CANalyzer tools to diagnose and trouble shoot network communication and using general electrical measurement tools (multi-meter, oscilloscope, and spectrum analyzer) to diagnose hardware functions; 3 yrs exp in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); professional exp with researching and influencing the future path and trends of infotainment system architecture, features/functions, and efficient development methods; professional experience with assessing the marketplace demands with a competitive viewpoint of electrical system components and requirements; and evidence of ability to create and maintain development schedule within a multi-disciplined group (evidence should include responsibility given for one engineering development, and show the ability to manage individual development schedule).
