Job Purpose

Dana Inc. is seeking an Engineering intern to do hands on work and is who is ready to apply engineering principles in a manufacturing environment. You will have the opportunity to be a part of the Global Manufacturing Engineering group in Dana. The summer intern will assist in simulation studies, creating standard work instructions, and 3D printing projects. All activities are conducted within a diverse and global manufacturing environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Job Responsibilities


Complete an excel based standard template for uploading information into Siemens Plant Simulation software.
The template should be flexible to accommodate different simulation types.
Assist in creating the script to assign the different parts of the template to the attributes in the simulation model.
Create a standard work instruction for the use of the template and uploading into the Plant Simulation model.
Assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of 3D printing equipment.
Optimize slice settings for 3D print requests to maximize efficiency and throughput.
Coordinate finishing, assembly, and shipment of completed projects.
Individual job duties may vary.

Required Education & Skills:


Enrolled and completed at least two years in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Engineering
Communication skills - ability to work with a team and individuals. Not to be intimidated of asking questions
Proficient user of Microsoft products
Knowledge of manufacturing simulation - Discrete event simulation
Initiative - the ability to see an opportunity and act upon it
Detail orientation - the ability to complete the project referred to under initiative
