Job Description:

The main purpose of the KSE Control Room Operator is to ensure the efficient flow of product to the packaging lines to keep production running and to properly manage the quality of materials from the finished product silos to the production line bins.
Both a production and quality mindset will be key for this role due to handling multiple production lines running simultaneously as well as tracking and properly segregating material to ensure the quality of the final product.
Additionally, the KSE Control Room Operator can manage the packaging team in the absence of the Packaging Lead and Flex Operator to provide more cross functionality and support for each shift.

What are we looking for?
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    High School diploma, or equivalent

    Preferred Experience:

    Minimum 1 year experience in a food production environment

    Ability to work any shift as needed

    Proficiency in learning new control systems

    Ability to problem solve and determine root cause of issues

    Attentive to details & good communication skills (written & verbal)

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid manufacturing environment

    Interpersonal skills to work in a team environment

    Self-management skills with a positive attitude and minimal supervision


What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Communication - Ensure that information is communicated from Extrusion to Packaging on the availability of product or issues that are causing a lack thereof. Open communication with the Packaging Lead to ensure planned production schedule is being followed and fulfilled.
  • Control Systems - Operate and control multiple product delivery systems (Courbon, Advanced Engineering, and KSE Promas) for efficient transfer from Extrusion to Packaging lines.
  • Quality Assurance - Segregate product according to Q&FS standards ensuring that there is adherence to FIFO, no product mixing, confirmation of empty bins, etc.
  • Production Management - Create production runs for the mobile scale & mixer equipment to deliver kibble to multiple packaging lines from the 27 finished product silos.
  • Troubleshooting - Monitor the control systems for any issues that could block production (from the transfer to the finished product silos to the packaging lines) and troubleshoot mechanical & system issues, calling for help as necessary from site resources & vendor resources.
  • Other System Operations - Monitor the kibble recovery system for any issues & troubleshoot problems. Operate the Big Bag system when routing product to the super sacks.
  • Associate Development - Interaction and communication with multiple teams in the plant (Flow, Packaging, Extrusion, Quality) to gather cross functional knowledge of plant operations.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Communication - Open communication with Flow associates for staging line materials such as empty bags and cases.
  • Material Handling - Operate pallet jacks to move line materials and scrap totes as necessary.
  • Problem Solving - Investigate traceability records in the case of a quality concern to aid with Q&FS investigations.
