Position Purpose

Performs various production operations to current performance standards by performing the following duties as described in the Essential Job Responsibilities section.

Education/Experience

High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and a minimum of one year work experience preferable with chemicals or a manufacturing environment

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Load ingredients into mixer. (i.e. chemicals, rubber, etc.)
  • Performs and completes inspections as required.
  • Operates machines to fill containers with cement.
  • Operates guillotine machine to slit rubber.
  • Operates various other machines, including mill.
  • Set-up and change over machines as required.
  • Completes necessary forms and paperwork.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
  • Monitor quality of materials throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Use and maintain digital scales.
  • Hand label cans and packaging.
  • Must be able to handle and move heavy and awkward objects, i.e. 55-gallon drums.
  • Ability to interact reasonably and in a cooperative manner with co-workers and customers.
  • Keep area clean and free from safety hazards.
  • Drive forklift as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Received: General. Works independently with little supervision

Communication Skills/Requirements:

Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress, and/or work completion. Communicates verbally and/or in writing with other workers, members of supervision, and others as necessary.

Mathematical Ability:

Ability to use math to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Requires good knowledge of shop math.

Reasoning Ability:

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Must have continuous visual and mental attention during the operation of equipment and/or machines.

Licenses/Certifications:

Forklift certification and Hazmat training.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)

  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
  • Hand to eye coordination

Frequently exerting or lifting up to 55 lbs. daily. Ability to handle and move awkward objects, i.e. 55-gallon drums. Frequently pushing, pulling and or lifting are required. Occasionally climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, using legs, arms, hands and feet. Emphasizing agility of body.

Additional Information:

Generally responsible for the safety and cleanliness of own work area. Carts available for transportation of material. Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required.
