UC Health is hiring a full time Sr. PR/Marketing Consultant

The Senior PR/Marketing Consultant team member ensures marketing and communications responsibilities align with the UC Health enterprises' Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values. They are responsible for visual and verbal storytelling across all channels - internal and external - which will engage multiple key audiences. This position provides support across all areas of Marketing and Communications to enable brand growth across touchpoints such as Emergency Medicine, Trauma & Critical Care, Air Care & Mobile Care, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, and the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute. They are responsible for advancing brand reputation by developing and delivering strategic marketing and communication plans in alignment with key business partners within their service lines.

The Senior Consultant will coordinate with the Marketing Manager to execute marketing and communications strategies outlined in the strategic marketing plans. The Senior Consultant will monitor marketing activities, report outcomes, and correct mid-course as needed to hit growth and business goals. This role requires close coordination with clinical operations and across the entire Marketing and Communications team. A strategic mindset, close attention to detail, marketing planning experience, client services, and innovative thinking deliver success in this role.

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree (A B.A. or B.S. in communications, marketing, journalism, or similar, is required)
  • Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience


  • This role will be expected to be available to support the department during regular department hours. While the position will be hybrid, travel to the various hospitals and work locations will be necessary. They will be expected to work 8 hours each business day (Monday through Friday) between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and be allotted a 1-hour lunch break (9 hours total). The Sr. Consultant will be allowed to select a standard arrival time (between 8 & 9 a.m.) and departure time (between 5 & 6 p.m.), but needs to be flexible, in that some meetings could start as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 6 to 8 p.m. They may flex hours when necessary, with prior approval. Remote work is available for part of the work week.

  • Lead, develop and implement innovative marketing and communications strategies for Emergency Medicine, Trauma & Critical Care, Air Care & Mobile Care, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, and the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute that support service lines goals and business objectives.
  • Develop a strategic and insights-driven annual plan and content calendar that drives forward key initiatives supporting service line and departmental business goals.
  • Create content to support annual marketing plan, including, but not limited to, writing for: articles, collateral pieces for patient and provider audiences, advertisements, social media and internal communications, based on need and defined target audiences.
  • Benchmark best-in-class marketing activations, develop key insights, and apply them to marketing and communication activations.
  • Understand key tools to drive 360 marketing plans and strategies and leverage them to drive marketing results.
  • Execute integrated marketing plan and tactics using all available communication channels and opportunities.
  • Implement and integrate closely with Digital, Creative, Data Insights, and Internal and External Communication teammates and resources.

Relationship Management with key service line stakeholders in support of building credibility and confidence of marketing and communications in support of overall UC Health organizational priorities.
  • In partnership with the Marketing Manager, develop a deep understanding of the service line business situation and develop marketing strategies in support of business goals.
  • Regularly connect with key service line stakeholders that build trust and credibility.
  • Support the ability to help prioritize marketing efforts in support of business goals with key stakeholders.

Analyze and report on the performance of the strategies and activations.
  • Regular reporting of results to key service line stakeholders and Marketing and Communications team.
  • Develop executive summaries of activations and overall annual marketing plan progress tied to KPI's and UC Health strategic framework.
  • Develop and regularly report appropriate performance metrics to business and clinical partners.
