Position Overview






We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Petrochemicals Market and Cost Senior Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing market trends, assessing cost structures, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making within our organization.

The Petrochemicals Market & Cost Senior Associate stewards and integrates chemical stream and supply chain economics into both functional and corporate growth initiatives. Acting as either program lead or subject matter expert, the candidate drives measurable value by translating information into actionable insights, framing growth opportunities for investment alignment, identifying competitive threats, and managing program milestones as part of the extended corporate transformation network.

The Petrochemicals Market & Cost Senior Associate will operate in a quick-paced execution environment and utilize their industry background to navigate the fast/precise continuum. As such, the ability to leverage global resources and influence without authority are critical functions of this role.

Job Responsibilities






Market Analysis:


Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of global petrochemicals markets, including supply, demand, pricing dynamics, and emerging trends.
Monitor industry news, regulatory developments, and geopolitical factors influencing market conditions.
Identify opportunities and threats within the market landscape and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

Cost Analysis:


Analyze cost structures across various stages of the petrochemicals value chain, including raw materials, production, transportation, and distribution.
Utilize financial modeling techniques to evaluate cost drivers, identify inefficiencies, and propose cost-saving initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize procurement strategies and enhance operational efficiency.

Forecasting and Reporting:


Develop accurate forecasts for key petrochemicals products based on market analysis, demand projections, and operational data.
Prepare regular reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings, trends, and insights to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Monitor KPIs and performance metrics related to market and cost analysis, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.

Strategic Support:


Provide strategic support to senior leadership in developing long-term business strategies, investment decisions, and risk management initiatives.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive growth, innovation, and competitive advantage in the petrochemicals sector.
Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and industry associations to stay abreast of best practices, industry benchmarks, and emerging technologies.
Develop insightful sourcing, logistics, and supply chain evaluations to frame options, KPI's, and appropriate strategies that drive value

Lead global business initiatives from project scoping through implementation, including critical path, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communications
Assemble and refine a repository of chemical stream insights including process economics and competitive footprints to support procurement strategies and growth initiatives
Leverage and engage corporate analytical, engineering, and technology resources to accelerate project deliverables and decisions, including quick Go/Kill decisions
Partner with the Procurement Team and Supply Chain Leaders to embed value-added insights and tools into standardized SCS processes
Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Design and support of RFI, RFP and RFQ in partnership with procurement partners.

Working knowledge of cost estimation, expected value, capacity utilizations, and optimization techniques
Organic chemistry knowledge
Proficient at navigating the fast/precise continuum and using engineering rules-of-thumb to build cost and decision models
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships and influence others, at all levels
Meets deadlines and works under pressure, with limited supervision
Maintains confidentiality as required

Minimum Qualifications







8-10 years relevant combined chemical/industrial economic evaluations.
Experience in petrochemicals, energy, or related industries, with a focus on market analysis, cost management, or strategic planning.
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional programs in a matrixed environment
Experience developing economic models integrating sourcing, supply chain, trade flow data, and process economics
Strong ability to frame risk/opportunities with progressive levels of detail
Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multicultural business environment
Ability to travel as needed

Education Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
Master's degree preferred
