Within the limits of established policies, procedures and budgets, assumes responsibility and has commensurate authority as delegated by the Chief Operating Officer for the following functions: |
- Assist in the coordination of operations and engineering daily schedules.

- Ensure that dispatch personnel are effectively performing all procedures and functions of dispatch. Monitor to ensure appropriate prioritization is in place.

- Resolves consumer complaints regarding PPEC’s tree contractors.
|
- Makes field checks on contractors work in progress to assure adherence to established standards, codes, practices and safety requirements.
|
- Approves daily time reports and approves overtime.
|
- Stays informed regarding OSHA and other safety standards and recommendations and personally observes the personnel to assure that they are adhering to safety rules and regulations.
|
- Interviews, selects and appoints all personnel under his/her supervision and assures that all responsibilities are understood.
|
- Administers employee development consistent with applicable policies, procedures and practices to assure the maintenance of a highly competent, motivated and effective work force.
|
- Oversight and follow up with contracted tree crews
|
- Develops recommendations regarding departmental organizational structure and staffing to accomplish approved program goals through the most effective and efficient utilization of available resources.
|
- Plans for and attends conferences, seminars, and meetings that will provide for acquiring knowledge of new or improved design, construction, operating, and safety methods and equipment.
|
- Oversight of warehouse and inventory control of material used by assigned personnel.
|
- Coordinates the Electrical Operations and Engineering Department’s activities with other departments of the cooperative with continuing emphasis on the nature of and importance of supportive relationships required for achieving efficient and effective operations.
|
- Understand and request necessary purchases of material, supplies and equipment to construct and maintain the cooperative’s distribution and transmission facilities and equipment.
|
- Maintain detailed material and supply documentation and a system of inventory control that accurately reconciles purchasing and sales with packing slips, invoices and statements.
|
- Helps coordinate and assure all permits, easements, licenses and other correspondence are secured in a timely fashion where required.
|
- Must have effective knowledge of RUS electric distribution and transmission system design, operation and maintenance, safety practices and techniques for training electrical operations personnel in work methods and procedures.
|
- Must have an effective knowledge and keep abreast of Occupational Health & Safety, E.P.A. Regulations, National Electrical Safety Code, RUS bulletins, cooperative policies, procedures and other regulations affecting the operations of the cooperative.
|
- Must participate in on-call supervisor rotation.
|
- Must participate and become certified in cooperative sponsored Standard First Aid and CPR.
|
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with DOT regulation and Paulding-Putnam policies.
|
- Performs such other duties as assigned.
|
